Home to the Idu-Mishmis, who might have migrated from ancient Tibet, Anini is a feast for the eyes. Anini is the headquarters of the Dibang Valley district where the clouds come down to kiss the land. With much of its beauty peeking from behind the misty air, this unexplored town is the place to visit for pristine calmness. Most of Anini is located on a miniature plateau between two tributaries of the Dibang river, the Dri river and Mathun river. Anini is marked by pleasant weather and immense natural beauty, making it a tourist’s paradise. Anini’s climate varies by elevation. In the lower elevations, the climate is humid subtropical. The climate around the plateau is temperate. The Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in wildlife, like Mishmi takin, Red goral, Musk deer (at least two species), Red panda, Asiatic black bear, occasional Tiger and Gongshan muntjac occurs. Among birds there is the rare Sclater’s Monal and Blyth’s Tragopan.
